Rekha Buragohain has received District award for quality organic production. She is a hardworking farmer practicing organic farming from a long period of time and is selling vegetables in bulk. She gets a good price in the daily market. She was recognized for cultivating strawberry, dragon fruit and vegetables organically. She sells vegetables in bulk in the daily market and earns a handsome income. She loves exploring new ways of cultivation like using liquid manure, mulching, trap crops like marigold in cabbage etc. She is the first farmer in her village who has established her own vermicompost unit in her home. She is an active farmer in her area and attend all kinds of trainings, even outside the district. She has also attended training on organic farming at Guwahati under Assam State Rural Livelihood Management. She was thus able to earn the District award along with her husband for excellence in organic production.
